This is a college project for the course of InDesign with the purpose of learning how to create interactive accessible pdf files according to the AODA. I was able to choose any type of restaurant and design a digital and a print version. I chose to design a restaurant logo named "The Sirloin" for a Toronto-based steakhouse, inspired by the vintage 1800's period.
The original print .pdf is set out for gold foil printing so this was a challenging part. I had to follow the guidelines and create an additional layer with a spot color in order for the printer to add the gold print. Another challenging part was that I had to follow the rules for the AODA accessible designs in Ontario. After this project, I was able to learn more about accessible design which is mandatory in Ontario and I hope I will be able to learn even more in the future. Another part that I encountered certain difficulties was that I had to create the content of the menu myself. In order to do so, I had to search different steakhouse menus and take parts of the menu so that it would like realistic.
